Tutorials 36- Tangled Rope Rug

June 1, 2011

Makes me feel like I'm at a beach house.
You might be able to find a large amount of rope at a hardware discount store like Lowe's or Home Depot for cheap. Or maybe you have some extra on hand to try when you're bored.

I'm not sure I ever mentioned this before but a great place for makeup tutorials is Keiko Lynn.
Lotsa looks.

Weddings 9: Chair Flowers

Beautiful not just for a wedding but any party especially if you have plain folding chair rather than chivari.

Tutorials- Tee Shirts to Striped Pencil Skirt

Clever. I bet this could also be used to make a chevron pattern!
(And guys, I realized this morning that my comments section wasn't working. I changed the settings and they are now working but no longer have the "subscribe to comments" option. I have a busy day today filled with appointments but I'll be trying to fix it sometime this afternoon.)

Wow 38

Well, I love these crochet knee highs. I just don't know how well they'd stay up?
Probably not well. But still, very pretty.

Announcement: From "Semi-Scratch" Sewing Series

For the rest of this week I plan on offering a glimpse into a new series I plan on offering next month. That is: individual patterns to use for thrift store refashions.
The series will be called: "From Semi-Scratch Sewing": Using small patterns to transform your wardrobe.

I will be taking a thrift store find and using a new sleeve or collar or skirt pattern I've designed to transform the piece into something new and amazing and I will be offering that pattern in PDF for you to use yourself.

I really like the concept of taking an already sewn piece because it's a great way for beginners to start in their sewing journey without feeling overwhelmed. AND it's a great way to have a new piece in a much shorter time than sewing from scratch.

I hope you'll join me!

Free Pattern Month - Day 28: Wrap Up

Hello readers. It's been a really great month! I've enjoyed every second. I hope you got some great resources and got to know some great new bloggers along the way! I am still surprised it's over. It seems like we just got started yesterday.

If you make something from last month please post to the Grosgrain flickr group and shoot me an email: mytumtumtree@gmail.com letting me know what you made. I'll be sure to feature it on the blog!

But don't worry! Just because Free Pattern Month is over doesn't mean that the free patterns are over as well. Starting tomorrow I plan on offering one free pattern for the rest of the week along with all the same great stuff that I've been writing about since I started the blog. Stay tuned later today for more on that!

For now, here are a few lookbacks at this past month. Click on pics to be taken to corresponding tutorial. Enjoy!
