Love tutus but not the tediuous strip cutting? Try make cardboard templates, wrapping around and cutting.
This works best with tulle on a spool. No vertical cutting involved.

I have been putting off making a bedskirt for our bed for some time. Mostly because the idea of taking off the king sized mattress and foam topper is just too much to bear. But this would solve my problem AND take up less material. Also would make washing a lot easier.

Oh my. This is interesting!
Unfortunately, it is not something you can buy but made by artist Eiko Ishizawa.
I guess you could always try and make your own version.

These would be so easy to make with a little felt and hot glue! But I'd definitely be sure it didn't obstruct your child's breathing, probably not best for a newborn but a toddler totally!
Maybe you could tie on of these onto the bow of a present for a one year old. Would make a cute extra gift.
