I thought in the spirit of the season I'd post a few holiday nails for you to get some inspiration from. I tried to pick the non-tacky kind. Maybe the candy cane and gift wrap are borderline but I liked them anyway;)

Inspiration Home: Dual Topiaries

I've been wanting some kind of side by side topiary for so long on my front porch. But the cost has always prevented me from doing so. But I wonder how easy these would be? So easy! Tomato cage wrapped with garland and lights! So much cheaper than actually buying the trees. See the tutorial via Lucy Designs. Right now I've seen Walmart has dual topiary trees for only $40 for both, 4.5' high.

Gift Ideas: Personal Cookbook

Oh my goodness. I'm feeling so ill today. On top of being pregnant, I think it has something to do with my breakfast diet. I have a quarter cup of decaf coffee with milk, ice and sugar and a breakfast pattie sausage and a whoopie pie. Funny, I don't think it was the whoopie pie that did it. I also usually have fruit but we are all out today, maybe that's what's throwing me off? I don't think I even have the energy to make a fruit run. At any rate, I feel like rubbish. I could use a good dietician.

Speaking of diet, check out this great gift idea from Clover Lane. I've been wanting to do something like this for my mother who has a modest little cookbook of her own but it's so much better with photos of your family to accompany the recipes. Wouldn't this be a great idea to make for a grandmother in your life? Clover Lane uses Blurb for her book. With a coupon she says it cost $65. I've made photobooks before and that's pretty standard. Especially a thicker one with printed cover. I think the end result is worth it!

Oh, PS I also had a few candy cigarettes. That probably didn't help. I bought a couple at the Farmer's Market on Friday. You could say they're quite 'addictive'. Molly agrees. She just so happened to be wearing a striped shirt today. And please, no rude comments about candy cigarettes. The kids call them 'sticks'. I buy them for myself because I love the taste. Thanks;)

Cut off the top and make into a bench!
Personally, I like it without the back and sides but looks amazing either way!

I'm feeling the holiday spirit!
China Glaze in Tinsel Town. Oooo. I bought mine at the local Sally's.
And say HEY! Did any of you see Real Simple's no smudge tip?
Set a manicure in record time. Lightly mist cooking spray on freshly painted nails for instant smudge protection.
Haven't tried it but I wonder if it works better than a fast drying topcoat?

Costume Ideas 15: Quickie Lace Masquerade

Cut out doily to mask shape, coat with lacquer make firmer, add faux diamonds, elastic to tie on each side.
The trick would be finding a paper doily that worked. Something with a long straight edge like this perhaps?

Ideas: Faux Collar

Just had a rad idea! What if you could make collar inserts? Sort of like dickies but without the faux shirt portion. I've found that a lot of the dresses that appeal to me to have Peter Pan collars. Wouldn't it be great if I could just pop one in when I felt in the mood? It might not perfectly come together in the back but would still look cute. Possibly attach with clips on one side? 
Her version would work with crew neck shirts. Something with a tight neck.
