To keep the blades from cutting through the fabric I recommend lining them with flannel or some stuffing and then putting a lining panel of flannel to asborb the water. Fleece isn't absorbent, was thinking of using flannel instead or a padded cotton? Do the blades cut too easily through other fabrics? What you have are soakers- that's what you put on them to keep moisture off the blades (so they won't rust). You will want the plastic ones for walking around. And yes, they're ment to be cut down to size. Use a water soluble stabilizer so that your embroidery threads float above your plush and show better - the stabilizer will wash out if you launder the item, but if you don't, you can always use a moistened q-tip to Eileen Coxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09026645414561709456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4616157712190875587.post-67815903268525197042013-02-04T16:23:04.800-05:002013-02-04T16:23:04.800-05:00So cool your daughter is taking skating lessons......So cool your daughter is taking skating lessons...I would have loved to do it at her age.Sewing Princesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17337829909003253138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4616157712190875587.post-50796782678135615802013-02-04T15:40:18.496-05:002013-02-04T15:40:18.496-05:00Nice tutorial! I embroider a lot of towels, and I have a trick. Mist some water over the area to be embroidered. Carefully lay a piece of Solvy on the damp spot, and press it down until the Solvy adheres. Let it sit and dry for about an hour, then hoop and sew. Use whatever stabilizer you like on the back -- Arianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10218922490095659908noreply@blogger.com
